Girl Scout ID Tags
Welcome to the "next step".... Our dedicated website for the ID Tags we started to make for our local Girl Scout troops! It all started after I made "SWAPS" for my friends at the "Cobb Leader Weekend" adult Girl Scout training camp over four years ago. We gave away 65 green tags with a GS picture on them. Then, someone asked if I could engrave her name on it.... And a small business was born!
You can go see how we do our engraving by going to our "How We Do It " Page.
We started making dog tags in response to the Girl Scouts "Safety Wise" requirement that the girls have identification when away from their normal meeting place. After four years, our business has grown from a small word-of-mouth business in our local area, to one where we really needed a website to show our tags to people. Last year, we purchased a new computerized engraver that uses a diamond-tipped graver to make a "jewelry-quality" ID tag that your kids, and you, will like to wear. With this new engraver, we can now do a wide range of designs on the back. Go here: Samples Page to see our page with many samples of what we can do!

Color choices available: Purple, Silver (Plain), Blue, Black, Gold, Green, Red, Pink.
We now have brownie brown and an orangey yellow!
Description: Aluminum "Dog Tag" style Identification tag, included is a 24" ball type Stainless Steel Neck Chain (can be cut to length) and a small SS Split Ring. Cost per item: $4.25/each, Second side engraved $1.00 additional, plus 6% Georgia Sales Tax as appropriate for Cobb County (if you reside in Georgia) Please note the small increase (effective October 2009) due to our costs going up!
We now offer rubber silencers for use on the dog tags in red, blue, black, clear, yellow, and green. They are $.80 each. Let us know if you wish to include these in your order!
We typically engrave on the front side, with a name,
address, city, state, and telephone number. On the reverse side of the
tag we can add allergies, troop numbers, Girl Scout Council, pictures,
or anything else we can come up with! We typically engrave four lines on a side,
but often do more for special circumstances as needed. (With information that did not fit on
front, or Troop/Pack number, Allergy Information, Diabetic, etc.)
The
Lord’s Prayer in miniature, religious symbols (cross, Star of David,
etc.), as well as custom images are now available.
Extra Charge may apply for engraving the reverse side: $1 for lettering or a picture. (Call or email for pricing if you need more information.)
We do single tag orders for new additions to your troop or others at your request!

The Girl Scouts publication, “Safety-Wise” currently says:
"Each girl and leader wears an identifying bracelet or similar device with the following information on it:
Name of girl or adult
Name of Girl Scout council
Telephone number of emergency contact
Each girl and adult leaders have on their person a card with their name, address, and telephone number...."
-from "Safety Wise", A copyrighted publication of Girl Scouts of the USA, Page 93
A recent article in a regional Girl Scout publication suggests that “the ID list the participant’s full
name, address and telephone number” and should be “constructed to
withstand the elements”. It also further states that the Identification tag
could be a simple piece of protected or water-proofed paper, or an engraved
“dog tag”. (Our Identification tags certainly meet this requirement!)
Travel policy for the Girl Scout Council of Northwest Georgia has been amended and states:
“Special note regarding nametags and ID bands:
"All participants shall have nametags and/or ID bands for all trips away from the regular meeting place. However, nametags should always be removed when traveling on public transportation or in a public place.
“ID bands must be provided for all participants and should be worn at all times when a troop/group is traveling or participating in an activity away from the regular meeting place. ID bands may be attached at the wrist, on a belt loop, on a string under the shirt like a dog tag, or around the ankle.
“ID bands can be as elaborate as metal dog tags, or as simple as a laminated ring of paper tied by string. They should be durable enough to withstand the elements.
All adults and "tag-alongs" shall have ID also.
